Minutes for September 30, 2004 - 4 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. AS192

In attendance at the DLMG meeting :    Jennifer Townsley, Jennifer Grimes , Stacey Cochran , Amadou Gaye, Donna Gaudet , and Peggy Johnson ,

Donna Gaudet conducted a workshop on using Breeze Presentation software to create powerpoint presentations that can be delivered quickly over the internet. Audio files may be created to accompany the slide presentation. Because they are delivered by Flash, these Breeze files are compressed significantly and are much quicker to download.  

Donna provided a detailed hand-out on how to create the files and upload them to the Breeze server. Due to limitations on what can be stored on the Breeze server, faculty should move their Breeze files to their home dirs directory or inside their WebCT course within two weeks of creating the files.

At our next DLMG meeting, we will have a workshop on using Respondus software to create tests/quizzes. This is the easiest and quickest way to create tests you want to deliver through WebCT. Once you have input the questions into Respondus, you can also print out hard-copy exams for use in traditional classes.  

Remember that on October 14 you will be showing what you have developed for your online course so far. Each DLMG member will have 5 to 10 minutes to link to their course online and show us around. Feedback from your peers can be most helpful at this point.
